Hello hoctro. I have tested this hack in my blog. Took just 2 mins to setup and works fine. However, it would be gr8 to see this hack extened to display when one clicks on a label or on the archives (in the year > month) format.

Hi, Vivek!

Welcome back! Yes, that's kind of what I had in mind to begin with, so that if you click on an archived link, then it shows the year & month, but if the user click on label, then it shows the last label. I'm working on it, hopefully will have it done somehow.

Thanks,

Hoctro,

It's great! The fist few (5) times I tried it, I wasn't reading it carefully enough, and put the first code in the main includable, instead of right before it.

Hi Bravery Onions,

Yes, I know my instructions can be difficult to understand and to follow somehow. I'm glad it works for you.

Hi, I think I got all the code pasted in the right places, but I keep getting an error code asking for the bordercolor?

Invalid variable declaration in page skin: Variable is used but not defined. Input: bordercolor

Am I doing something wrong?

Hoctro said...

Hi,

in this part,

.breadcrumbs {
border-bottom:1px dotted $bordercolor;
margin:0 0 0.5em;
padding:0 0 0.5em;
}

just replace it with a color such as #000, and you'll be fine.

cheers,

hi, I just wanted to thank you for this hack. It's great. I have the same request as vivek sanghi, I would love to see it apply to the labels as well. Awesome work.

Hi Hoctro, I need help again with adding breadcrumbs to my blog. I switched to a 3 column minima blog from Hackosphere. No matter what I try I can't get it to work, I keep getting a closing (div) error. Could I send you the code to look at?

Thanks,

Mike

Hey Hoctro-

Disregard my previous post. Was finally able to get the breadcrumbs up again. Thanks for all of the great work.

I've made sort of an addition to this that shows

Home > Year > Month > Title

I had to use javascript cuz I couldn't think of a way to do it directly with Blogger's built-in tags

It actually defaults back to showing

Home > Label > Title

if the user has javascript disabled

Oops... forgot to include the link :P

It's located here

PurpleMoggy,

Thanks for adding a really nice, cool twist to the "breadcrumb trails" hack.

Great hack. thank you.
A problem, though: what about if a post has 2 different labels? it shows only one. Any solution?
